COVID-19 Top Vaccines

There are currently 21 COVID-19 vaccines in the final phase of clinical trials, some of which have received regulatory approval for use limited or full use in various countries. For more information on the regulatory process for vaccines (which is a labyrinth), check out this post here.


1. The Oxford/AstraZeneca Vaccine

Latest Update

Earlier this week, the Oxford vaccine received its first regulatory approval for use in the United Kingdom. The vaccine has also now been approved in India, where the Serum Institute of India is responsible for the mass manufacturing of this vaccine. Additionally, the vaccine got authorization in Argentina, where 22.4 million doses of the vaccine have been ordered. 

In the UK, the rollout of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine began today. The rollout in India won’t begin for a few weeks. We were unable to find information on the rollout in Argentina.

As part of the COVID vaccination plan, the UK has confirmed that they will provide the second dose of this COVID-19 jab 12 weeks apart, rather than 21 days apart. This has faced criticism from doctors.
