Last week, the University of Oxford has announced that interim data show their COVID-19 vaccine candidate is 70.4% effective, and tests on using a two-dose regimen show that it could be 90% effective.
This week, the researchers have announced that as the vaccine starts to get approval, they will be “unblinding” their study i.e. letting the volunteers know whether they received the placebo or the COVID-19 vaccine.

Earlier this week, Moderna confirms they have requested Emergency Use Authorization from the U.S. FDA for their COVID-19 vaccine candidate, mRNA1273. The vaccine is said to be 94% effective, as per the final results.

This week, Novavax announced that they completed enrollment for Phase 3 clinical trials in the UK and Phase 2b trials in South Africa. The trial in the UK has completed an enrollment of 15,000 participants. In South Africa, 4,422 volunteers have been enrolled, including 245 medically stable, HIV-positive participants.
