Sometimes, just sometimes, writing content consistently can seem difficult. On these days, when there is a deadline, and things need to be written and done, content creators often find themselves wondering: How do I write a blog post quickly?
In this blog post, I provide you with a “quick” answer that may help. Follow these 5 tips and you will hopefully be set up for successfully writing a blog post quickly.
- Decide a topic beforehand
As a content creator, or content strategist, you will always have a list – either physical or mental – of ideas that you can create content around. If you don’t already have a list, I really suggest you start creating one. From this list of topics, you can quickly decide a topic on which you want to create content when it comes to it.
- Write about what you know – cut out your research phase!
When you’re pressed for time, there isn’t any time to spare on research. So what do you do? Write about what you know – cut out your research phase! For example, today, I’m running late and this article needs to be written and published. So I figured I’d write an article about how to write an article quickly. And voila!
- Write first, edit later
One reason that writers struggle to get content done quickly, is that we write and edit as we go. This technique is quite good when time is abundant, but when content needs to be written quickly, this process tends to slow us down. So, the solution? Write first, edit later. Focus on one thing at a time so it can all be tied up neatly and quickly.
- Think about images at the end (or not at all)
Creators can be perfectionists, and when we write blog posts, we spend so much time trying to find the perfect “image” to go with the post. If you’d like to include an image, decide what images you use at the end after all the writing is done. Sometimes, I end up not using images when the blog post is published and add one several days later when I have more time to find the “perfect” kind of image.
- Offload to a freelance writer
Another quick and effective way of getting your blog posts or other content written in time for a deadline, consider offloading a freelance writer. Freelance writers, such as myself, work to your deadlines to consistently create quality content for you and your business. In fact, some of us go the extra mile to optimise your blog posts so you have more visitors to your website that helps you with your business.
